Sunday 9, March 2025 {HMC}ย in the Middle Shabelle region. This bridge, which is reported to be artificial, was put up by Al-Shabaab to enable quick-moving combat vehicles and fighters Separated in Aw Baale.
According to the statement of NISA, a supporting combat vehicle that Al-Shabaab was attempting to march through that bridge was also destroyed in the operation.
“The National Intelligence and Security Agency forces in cooperation with international partners conducted a bombing operation in Aw Baale village [within Middle Shabelle] that destroyed an artificial bridge constructed by the Khawarij some time back,” NISA’s statement read.
This operation has effectively brought down the artificial bridge and military vehicles in a time when the Somali government was recently upbeat about recent operations targeting Al-Shabaab in parts of Middle Shabelle.
