Parliament Speaker Meets Algerian Counterpart for Bilateral Talks.

Monday 5,may 2025 {HMC} H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe), Speaker of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, had a productive meeting in Algiers, with H.E. Ibrahim Boughali, his Algerian counterpart and President of the Arab Parliamentary Union.

This meeting followed the Conference of the Speakers of the Arab Parliaments where issues relevant to participants were deeply explored.

Speaker Boughali welcomed Speaker Madobe and the delegation and thanked them for their participation in the Conference and in strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.

He also reiterated the necessity of establishing ways for cooperation between the Somali Parliament and the Algerian Parliament and appreciated Somalia’s efforts for stability and development in the Arab world.

In response, Speaker Madobe thanked the Government and people of the Algerian people for their generous hospitality and for hosting the high-level conference.

He continued to stress the importance of strengthening the relationship, specifically on a parliamentary level, and stressed the significance of collaborative legislation and a common pathway to shared development.

Speaker Madobe further praised Algeria’s long-standing commitment to Arab issues and described parliamentary as means for legislative exchange and strengthened fraternal relations between both States.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to promote better coordination and collective action on the interests of both Parliaments building from the shared interests, and historical ties.
