Monday 5,may 2025 {HMC} The members of the Federal Parliament of Somalia held their sixth session today at the headquarters of the House of the People, its 10th meeting, chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House of the People and Second Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of the People and Second Deputy Speaker, who opened the session, urged the members of the House to observe the rules and regulations of the House and to observe the time of attendance in the House.
After that, the members of the House of the People passed the second reading of the bill on the census and civil status statistics, and the report on the second reading of this bill was read to the House by the Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Internal Affairs, Regional Administrations and Security of the House of the People, MP Nur Ahmed Diiriye (Nor Afey).
The members of the House of the People of the National Parliament expressed their views on the provisions of this bill and its importance to the country, asking questions about this bill to the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Committee on Internal Affairs.
In conclusion, the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, who officially closed the meeting, instructed the Internal Affairs Committee to incorporate the views and recommendations of the MPs into this bill and then return it to the House for a third reading.
