Mondey Nov 03, 2025 {HMC} The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of the Federal Republic of Somalia, in collaboration with international partners, has conducted a planned operation in Ceel-weyne village, near Ceel-baraf in Mahaday district of Middle Shabelle region, killing 23 AS militants, including senior commanders.
According to security officials, the operation targeted a location where the militants had recently regrouped to organize attacks aimed at undermining national stability. The raid followed verified intelligence indicating that the group was using the site as a base for their activities.
A similar operation was carried out in the same area on October 30, 2025, in which AS also suffered heavy losses.
Authorities confirmed that no civilian casualties were recorded during the latest offensive.
