The president of Puntland, Saeed Abdullah Deni, is absent from this meeting because he refused to attend due to a strong disagreement with the senior leaders of the DF.

A committee from the DFS and the regional governments except Puntland met in Baidoa, the meeting before the forum discussed the unification of the country’s elections and other issues.

The committees agreed, after long discussions, on the points which include

1- That the South West & Puntland presidential elections take place in January 2024.

2- That the presidential elections of Galmudug, Hirshabeelle & Jubbaland administrations take place in December 2024.
