Somalia and the US signed an agreement

Thursday 16 March 2023 {HMC} The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Noor, and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Somalia, Larry Andre, have signed an agreement on the strengthening of the Somali forces, especially the Danab commandos.

The Minister of Defense of Somalia said that this agreement is to strengthen the training and equipping of the Danab commando forces in Somalia, to prevent the threat from the Al-Shabaab group.

The signing of the agreement by the Minister of Defense of the Somali Government and the US Ambassador to Somalia was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Somali Armed Forces, General Abbas Amin.

Minister Abdulqadir Mohamed Noor thanked the US government for the support they give to the Somali government, especially the Danab Commandos, noting that the Federal Government of Somalia is committed to building and enhancing the strength of the country’s armed forces.

The United States government is one of the international friends of the Somali government to help build the country’s armed forces, especially the Danab commandos.

In January of this year 2023, it was when the Ambassador of the United States of America to Somalia handed over to the Minister of Defense of the Government of Somalia weapons, military equipment and military vehicles, which the Minister of Defense said that the United States government intended for the war against the Al-Shabaab group.
