Tuesday 7, Oct 2025 {HMC} The Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said in a press release that it had neutralized 7 Al Shabaab fighters, including “leaders and militias”.
The agency said in a press release that the operation took place last night in the Basra area of the Middle Shabelle region, where they were attacked after receiving information about them.
NISA added that the area between Mogadishu and Balad was being prepared for up to 40 fighters, and the agency said that their tent was targeted.
The agency added that “international partners” participated in the operation. International partners are a term used to refer to countries that support Somalia in its fight against Al Shabaab and ISIS.
