Saturday, Oct 24, 2025 {HMC} President Hassan Sheikh launched the E-visa System, while today he heard reports from the Heads of the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Authority.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, inspected the headquarters of the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Authority, to observe the important ongoing activities.
The President heard a comprehensive report on the modernization of the agency’s services, the mobilization of citizens and the development of work, from the Minister of Internal Security, His Excellency Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, and the Director General of the Somali Immigration Authority, His Excellency Mustafa Sheikh Ali Dhuxulow.
President Hassan Sheikh, who spoke to the heads and staff of the agency, stressed the implementation of laws, ensuring the efficiency of services to citizens and combating smuggling, terrorism, illegal immigration and the easy entry of criminals into our country.
“The Immigration and Nationality Authority is central to ensuring the security and borders of the country, and this depends on how you serve Somali citizens and verify the information of those entering the country.”
The President of the Republic praised the achievements made, especially the modernization of the visa issuance process (e-Visa), the new PISCES system, a modern system for managing borders and identifying people, which uses biometric data such as fingerprints and facial recognition.
