Tuesday 10, Nov 2025 {HMC} Puntland has accused the Qatari government of being behind the assassination of the DP World manager in Bosaso port, Paul Farmosa, who was killed in Bosaso in March 2019, and of supporting terrorist groups and media outlets that spread their ideology.
The Puntland Information Minister said that the terrorists in the mountains and those hiding in the media are the same, adding that all groups that spread the ideology of ISIS and Al-Shabaab will be eliminated.
The minister accused the Qatari government of providing shelter to the former Al-Shabaab leader in the Galgala mountains, Sheikh Mohamed Said Atam, who now lives in the country.
He also noted that Qatar has admitted its role in the assassination of the DP World manager in Bosaso, and that it funds the Middle East Eye media outlet, which the minister accused of spreading propaganda and falsehoods about Puntland.
