Thursday, Nov 13, 2025 {HMC} Reports from Eritrea say an Ethiopian drone has been shot down in the southeastern region, near the port of Assab.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions between the two countries over Ethiopia’s efforts to gain access to the Red Sea.
The reports add that the drone was on a surveillance mission near the border town of Bure the site of the 1998–2000 border war between the two countries, which left more than 100,000 people dead.
Eritrea has also been reported to have installed drone jamming equipment in key locations this year, as tensions continue to escalate. Neither government has commented on the incident so far.
