Somali Foreign Minister meets Turkish, Chinese envoys to boost bilateral cooperation

Tuesday 25, Nov 2025 {HMC} Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, on Monday held separate meetings with the Ambassadors of Türkiye and China in Mogadishu to discuss strengthening bilateral ties.

In his meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, Alper Aktaş, the discussions centred on strategies to enhance cooperation between the two nations. Both sides explored ways to advance shared goals, promote joint initiatives, and reinforce long-term partnerships.

The Minister also met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Wang Yu, for talks focused on deepening bilateral cooperation.
The discussions highlighted the long-standing relationship between Somalia and China, touching on political collaboration, infrastructure development, and education-sector partnerships.

Somalia and China are preparing to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations in December, commemorating more than six decades of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
