Somalia, Pakistan sign agreement abolishing visas for Diplomatic Passport holders

Sunday 25, Jan 2026 {HMC}  The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh held a high-level meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Asif Ali Zardari.

Minister of Interior Affairs Ali Yusuf and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing of an agreement abolishing visas for diplomatic passport holders, a move that strengthens the bilateral relations between the two nations. The meeting discussed law enforcement cooperation, counter-narcotics efforts, economic ties and regional issues.

The talks addressed Somalia’s sustained counterterrorism campaign, regional security cooperation, and Pakistan’s continued political and diplomatic support for Somalia.

H.E. Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled position in support of Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in advancing peace, stability, and state-building efforts.
