Tuesday 3 Feb 2026 {HMC} H.E. Abdisalam Ali , Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, today held bilateral talks in Pretoria with H.E. Mr. Ronald Lamola, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, aimed at further strengthening Somalia–South Africa relations and advancing practical cooperation.
The ministers discussed expanding collaboration in trade, education, health, human capital development, and agriculture, with a focus on follow-up actions that deliver tangible results for both peoples.
The Somali Foreign Minister also expressed Somalia’s appreciation for South Africa’s principled support for Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and security.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination in regional and international forums on shared priorities, including peace, stability, and development.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Isxaaq, Somalia’s Ambassador to South Africa.
