Friday 20 March 2026 {HMC} Residents of Wajid district in the Bakool region held a large rally today following Eid prayers, expressing their position on the situation and recent violence in South West Somalia.
The gathering brought together members of the community who used the occasion to call for stability, unity, and strengthened governance in the region.
During the rally, the Wajid community clearly expressed its full support for the Federal Government of Somalia and its ongoing efforts to advance national priorities.
Participants particularly welcomed the implementation of the recently completed constitution and emphasized their support for the transition to elections based on one person, one vote.
The demonstration reflects growing public engagement in national political processes and continued support for reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions in Somalia.
