Monday 17, Nov 2025 {HMC} Today in Kismayo, AUSSOM launched a six-week VIP Protection Course for the Jubaland Security Forces, led by Sector 2 Commander Brig. Edward Banda.
Joined by the State Minister for Internal Security, Yusuf Hussein Osman, Brig. Banda congratulated the 50 participating officers, noting that the training will enhance their capacity to safeguard senior state officials and bolster overall security in Jubaland.
He reaffirmed the strong partnership between AUSSOM and Somali Security Forces, urging participants to fully commit to the programme.
Minister Osman highlighted the importance of the training, stressing that Al-Shabaab’s continued targeting of government and military leaders makes advanced protection skills vital.
Also in attendance were AUSSOM Sector 2 Deputy Commander Col. Samson Kenga and other senior officials.
