Mondey 23 Feb 2026 {HMC} The Commissioner of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Maxamuud Macalin Cabdulle, today received the newly appointed Country Director of the World Food Programme (World Food Programme) in Somalia, Mr. Hameed Nuru, at the agency’s headquarters.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, with particular emphasis on disaster preparedness and rapid response, building community resilience, and enhancing early warning systems. The two sides also discussed the country’s humanitarian situation and reviewed findings related to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).
In addition, WFP presented its Somalia Country Strategic Plan for 2026–2028, which aligns with the development priorities and strategic frameworks of the Federal Government of Somalia.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration to address humanitarian needs and support long-term resilience across the country.
