Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama Announces Major Advances in Digital Transformation

Salah Ahmed Jama, has announced that Somalia has achieved significant progress in the digital sector, positioning itself ahead of many countries in the implementation and use of modern government services.

Speaking on the government’s digital reform agenda, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that several nations are currently striving to reach the level of digital transformation Somalia has attained, describing the milestone as clear evidence of the Federal Government’s sustained efforts and institutional progress.

H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama also unveiled a new initiative aimed at unifying government services under a single, accessible platform. He revealed that starting next year, Somali citizens will be able to access essential public services—including birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other key documents—through one centralized system.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the integration of services will not only simplify public access to essential documentation but also enhance institutional efficiency, transparency, and accountability across government agencies.

In recent years, the Federal Government of Somalia has intensified efforts to modernize public administration, digitize services, and build a secure and efficient digital infrastructure to support national development.
