Mogadishu, Somalia | 17 February 2026 The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Ali, received H.E. Ambassador Moussa Djama Ali, IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan, at his Office to discuss regional peace and cooperation.
The Special Envoy congratulated Somalia on its election to the African Union Peace and Security Council and commended Somalia’s role in advancing continental peace and security, as well as its support for South Sudan’s stability and economic progress through shared EAC membership.
Minister Abdisalam reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to regional and continental peace and pledged closer coordination with IGAD and regional partners.
