Mondey 26, Jan 2026 {HMC} – Members of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, who convened today, approved the Somalia Cybersecurity Bill. A total of 144 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, one voted against it, and no abstentions were recorded.
The bill aims to safeguard data security and the country’s telecommunications infrastructure. It also focuses on preventing cyberattacks, strengthening coordination among security institutions, and enhancing trust in Somalia’s digital systems.
