Thursday 18 December , 2025 (HMC)During their meeting, the two ministers held extensive discussions on enhancing strategic cooperation in security and defense, as well as broader regional coordination aimed at promoting stability and peace in the Horn of Africa.
Minister Fiqi expressed appreciation for Djibouti’s longstanding role in Somalia’s state-building efforts, particularly its contribution to the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). He described Djibouti’s involvement as a reflection of sustained support and the strong brotherly ties between the two neighboring countries.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of the Somali National Army, Major General Odowaa Yusuf Rage, the Djiboutian Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Ibrahim Yusuf, and senior officials from both delegations.
