Addis Ababa, 25, Oct 2025 {HMC} – The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Ali Mohamed Omar, met on Saturday in Addis Ababa with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, on the sidelines of the Tana High-Level Forum.
The discussions centred on strengthening regional peace and security and reaffirming the African Union’s continued commitment to supporting Somalia’s stabilisation and development initiatives.
The AU Commission Chairperson commended Somalia’s constructive engagement at the United Nations Security Council as part of the A3 group, noting its efforts in promoting Africa’s collective interests at the global level.
The meeting reinforced the partnership between Somalia and the African Union in advancing peace, security, and regional cooperation across the continent.
