Wed 4 Feb 2026 {HMC} Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan says Türkiye and Egypt agree to continue cooperation on Libya, Sudan and Somalia, and to support safeguarding Africa’s sovereignty.
During his official visit to Egypt, the two countries sign multiple deals and set a goal to boost trade between them to $15B, including new joint projects in energy and transportation.
President Erdogan says reopening of Türkiye’s institutions in Egypt – including the Yunus Emre Institute, TIKA and TRT – is important for supporting cultural ties between the two countries.
