Heavy fighting took place today in Eel-dheer Galgadud Region.

Monday February 19, 2024 {HMC} The Federal Government of Somalia with the help of the local people launched a multi-directional attack today on Sadhig Al-Shabaab group in a wild land near Ali Yabal area which is one of the areas under Eel-dheer district of Galgaduud region.

The allied forces and Al-Shabaab are said to have engaged in a battle that lasted for hours, and finally the allied forces took over the areas where the fighting took place.

 

Officials from the Somali National Army who spoke to the government media said that the battle that took place today in the forest area under Ali Yabal that the members of Al-Shabaab who were in the forest area were heavily defeated.

 

“The Kharijite group that tried to defend the base which was important to them was finally defeated and removed, and now the bullets are falling in the forest area between Ali Yabal and Cowswayne.
